CLASS Domain: Emotional Support
Looks at positive relationships among teachers and children, the ways that teachers support social/emotional functioning, and the degree to which teachers promote children's autonomy.
CLASS Domain: Classroom Organization
Considers how well time and behavior is managed to maximize learning opportunities.
CLASS Domain: Instructional Support
Encompasses the ways in which teachers implement lessons & activities to promote cognitive & linguistic development. It also focuses on how teachers use feedback to help children learn.
CLASS: Is a structured observation measure which is statistically valid and reliable. CLASS: is about more than raising teachers' scores. It is about fundamentally improving teaching and learning. Teacher-child interactions drive learning. Coaching: Research shows that it takes 10 months of intensive coaching to increase scores by half of a point.
