Why is it hard to create for a fair and adequate compensation system for educators?

We have tried....

- merit pay - years of service - wage pressure - mandating degrees &  certifications - salary schedule - leadership = leaving the    classroom


But that

Does not allow for hybrid roles


System rigidity means educators are stuck in the same traditional time & space loops as they were 50-60+ years ago


Teacher roles are very much regimented and "silo"-ed. Individual practices but lockstep solidarity based on system steps are the norm.



The system fails to incentivize teacher development & leadership
