Why It Works:
Helps students celebrate books that interest them, think critically about books and characters, and inspire each other to read more.
Have students lead show-and-tell style book talks. Create a standard questionnaire, asking questions like: “What is the title of the book? What is the book about? Who is your favorite character and why? What is your favorite passage, and why do you like it?” Then, in small groups or as a class, students can show their books, discuss what they wrote, and ask questions of each other.
