Books and Ballots
Reading and learning about elections
Materials: Books about elections (fiction or nonfiction), boxes, paper, and drawing supplies to make ballot box and ballots
Instructions The whole class reads two (or more) books about elections. Host a mock election: students vote for their favorite book or book character. Get creative! This activity can involve making voter registration cards, campaign posters, even "I voted" stickers or buttons.
