Found Object Poem

Grades: 2 - 8


Once a week for one month ask students to compose short works of poetry in response to teacher-supplied found objects, or photos of found objects.

Prompts to help students get started could include:

Photos should lack context and objects should be something out of the ordinary.

What does the object look, feel, smell, sound and taste like to you?

Write a persona poem in the voice of the object.
