ITA READING CHALLENGE

READZ CLUB

AUTHOR VISIT - TIM GREEN

TEAM READ

Middle school students met Tuesday's before school to explore various tech tools including, robots, coding, green screen, and more.

High school students interested in reading make up the participants in this club.  They organized a poetry contest, Thanks a latte, created book displays and more.

Tim Green, author and former NFL player, came to visit with third - sixth grade students.

Middle school students formed teams of three and read the same title at the same time.  They were challenged to read the most books they could in the length of the program.

Seventh and eighth grade students were challenged to read as many Iowa Teen Award books as they could.

DOT DAY

Lakeview Elementary celebrated Dot Day, individuality, and creativity in many ways.

DEAR NIGHT

Lakeview Elementary students were able to come to the library to Drop Everything and Read.

HOUR OF CODE NIGHT

All SCSD students were invited to complete an hour of code.  Participants spent the hour coding with computers, iPads, and robots.

WIN WITH READING

Lakeview Elementary students connected with authors through virtual visits and also received a book by the author they visited.

THANKS A LATTE!

Program organized by READz Club  during School Library month.  Students were asked to write how they were thankful for the school library for a cappuccino, hot chocolate, or tea.

WORLD READ ALOUD DAY

Lakeview Elementary classrooms connected with other classrooms to celebrate reading across the nation.
