Updated 2016

Sources: The degree and enrollment data come from the CGS/GRE Survey of Graduate Enrollment and Degrees as well as the U.S. Department of Education's Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). Responding institutions to the Survey of Graduate Enrollment and Degrees included CGS members and non-members in the state. IPEDS collects information on all U.S. institutions on an annual or biannual basis, depending on the categories of data. Data on graduate degrees reflect master's degrees and doctorates in research/scholarship awarded between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. Degrees do not include doctorates in professional practice. Sources: The workforce data come from the National Science Foundation's (NSF) 2016 Science and Engineering Indicators State Data Tool and the 2016 Science and Engineering State Profiles. The data reflect total individuals in science and engineering occupations with doctoral or master’s and undergraduate degrees. “Other Degrees” combines master’s and undergraduate degrees as NSF only disaggregates doctoral degrees.
